Today, PAP Boxes will introduce to you the types of popular fashionable Luxury large gift boxes UV inks, and what are their applications.

1.Offset UV ink

Offset printing inks can be used for fine product printing. When ordinary offset presses are printed with oil-based inks, in order to prevent the upper and lower sides of the paper from adhering to each other, a large number of dry powders need to be ejected during the printing process and a large number of separators must be used when receiving paper. Oily inks are not easy to dry quickly.

The offset printing ink is characterized by instant drying, UV curing can reduce the loss of fine dots, and improve the ink transfer rate of overprinting. Foods made of non-absorbent materials such as gold and silver cardboard, polyethylene, coated paper, etc. are used as printing carriers. The printing aspect of packaging and cosmetic boxes is easy.

More suitable printing carriers for printing with ink: metal foils, holographic films, etc., such as common tobacco shells, high-end gift boxes, tea outer packaging boxes, popular fashionable Luxury large gift boxes, various card printing, etc. Material as a print carrier for printed matter.

The disadvantage of offset UV ink is that its price is 2-3 times that of ordinary oil-based inks. In addition, special supporting equipment such as ink rollers, cleaning liquids, and printing plates are required. Therefore, the printing cost is higher than that of ordinary offset printing.

2.Flexo printing ink

Compared with water-based and solvent-based inks, flexo UV inks are different except for the same coloring ingredients and additives. Also. There is also a slight emphasis on uses. Ordinary water-based flexo inks are mainly used for printing paper (corrugated paper, etc.) and reinforced PE bags; solvent flexo inks are mainly used for printing plastic film packaging materials, paper cups, etc .; flexo UV inks are mainly used for Printing trademark labels, jams, etc.

Water-based and solvent-based flexo inks mainly use hot air evaporation and drying methods. Flexo UV inks use ultraviolet rays emitted by UV lamps to polymerize oligomers and monomers to cure the inks. They do not contain volatile components, so the inks remain on the prints. The bottom is 100% solid matter, which can form a strong ink film.

Similarly, flexographic UV inks have better abrasion resistance, water resistance, and solvent resistance than other flexographic inks.

However, the disadvantage of flexo UV ink is also a cost problem. The unit price of UV flexo ink is several times the unit price of water-based flexo ink, which lacks price advantage in market promotion and practical application.

3.Screen printing UV ink

If you need to increase the thickness of the ink layer, it is easy to achieve UV printing with screen printing. The ordinary screen printing ink, whether it is solvent volatilization or chemical reaction type, has a solid content of about 40% and a solvent content of about 60%, while the screen printing UV ink has a solid content of 100%, and Jiping has no ink solvent volatility issues. Therefore, the thickness of the ink layer is basically unchanged after curing, and of course, it is easy to leave a higher ink layer thickness on the print carrier. If UV ink and common solvent-based ink are printed on the same screen, the thickness of the ink layer after curing the UV ink is 2-3 times the thickness of the ink layer of the common solvent volatile ink, because the UV ink does not contain a volatile solvent. . Moreover, because the UV ink has better adhesion, the color quality of the ink layer of the print is also more perfect.

The screen printing UV ink process technology is used on the surface of the substrate with metallic mirror gloss, such as mirror silver card, gold card, and foil card, etc., and its visual effect is obviously more elegant, solemn and luxurious. This kind of printing and packaging products are mainly used in high-end, exquisite and unique tobacco, wine, cosmetics, health products, food, medicine and other fields.

There are many types of screen printing UV inks with more special process effects. These inks include: UV wrinkles, UV ice flowers, UV refraction, UV foaming, UV matte, UV varnish, etc.

In the process of screen printing UV ink, factors such as screen mesh number, printing pressure, and scraping angle will affect the printing quality. Therefore, according to different design patterns and requirements, appropriate adjustment of relevant elements can achieve the desired printing effect.
